Field Engagement Associate

The Field Engagement Associate supports OMI’s mechanical trade workforce by serving as a key connector between field employees and the home office. They spend the majority of their time visiting job sites, building relationships, and gathering feedback to ensure the field’s perspective is heard and addressed in a timely manner. They play a critical role in strengthening culture through small and large scale engagement activities. Additionally, they support operational processes such as licensing management. The Associate reports to the Director of Safety. 

• Serve as a primary point of contact for field employees, offering support and providing timely feedback and guidance. Actively work to address questions and resolve concerns
• Builds strong relationships with the field team, regularly engaging with them through site visits, 1/1 meetings, and new hire welcomes
• Gather and share field feedback with the Director of Safety and the appropriate construction leaders. This includes identifying urgent issues that require immediate attention, as well as surfacing broader themes and trends
• Plan and execute field engagement activities such as on-site meals, team outings, and employee recognition efforts
• Manage field licensing requirements; tracking employee status, flagging renewals, and coordinating with the appropriate parties to maintain compliance
• Leads efforts to design and implement training programs, educational resources, and career development tracks for field team members, fostering long-term growth and retention
• Support the Director of Safety with special projects

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with field personnel across roles and backgrounds
• Skilled listener, able to ask probing questions to help advance their understanding of an issue
• Effective communicator in individual and group settings as well as in writing
• Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on follow-through and meeting deadlines 
• Self-starter, able to achieve goals independently
• Discreet and professional, able to maintain confidentiality 
• Operates with integrity and in line with the OMI Values
• Comfortable with technology, including email, Microsoft Word, and new software tools

Education & Experience 

• 3+ years of industry experience, with a focus on construction or comparable environments
• Experience working in a mid-sized to large construction organization preferred
• Valid driver’s license 

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times
• Must be able to enter and navigate job sites for regular inspections, training, and education
