Job Description - Field Engineer

Description: Badlands Contracting is an EPC firm focused on building infrastructure in the Williston Basin. Our model is to provide full integration from conception to commissioning for clients in the oil and gas industry. Badlands Contracting specializes in project development, facility and pipeline design, procurement, construction management and field construction services.


Job Summary:
We are seeking a mechanically inclined individual with oil and gas facilities construction experience preferred but all relevant experience will be considered. Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, needs a positive attitude and strong work ethic.



Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Know, abide, and participate in Badlands Contracting’s safety program

  • Maintain a daily project diary and help establish project priorities

  • Input and approve daily time card entry

  • Track and record project costs, production quantities, yield statistics, and onsite inventory counts

  • Compile cycle times and production information and log this information for historical data

  • Gather pay item quantities and collect information on extra work items

  • Conduct timely billing and reporting to maximize profit

  • Perform all other duties as assigned


 


Required Skills & Abilities:



  • Degree in Construction Management, CET, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Experience in construction/pipeline industry preferred

  • Competent in all Microsoft products and scheduling experience

  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and excellent communication skills

  • Willingness to work both in field and office settings

  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a high production, fast moving environment

  • Must be able to work outside part/most of every working day

  • Work with limited working surfaces

  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials up to 50 pounds


Education & Experience:


Basic



  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Oil & gas: 3 years (Preferred)


 


Physical Requirements


The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job (but are not limited to). The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time, unassisted. Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate office machinery are required. This job also requires full range of body motion to include handling and lifting. The incumbent must repeatedly lift and/or move up to 30 (THIRTY) pounds unassisted. Visual acuity, hearing, speaking, reading, and writing must be adequate to perform all required tasks in a safe manner.



Work Environment


The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Work is usually done indoors and sometimes (rarely) at a client facility or job site. The incumbent may be expected to travel to other work sites with prior notice.
