Reporting Structure: Director of Food

Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 Annual

Vintner’s Distributors is the corporate arm for Loop Neighborhood Market and is based in Union City, Calif., with stores and stations across California. The company was founded in 1978 and develops real estate and owns and operates gas stations with convenience stores and car washes. Loop Neighborhood Market also has a wholesale division that delivers fuel to dealer locations in the market.

Position Summary

We are a proud California company dedicated to excellence in foodservice operations. Join us and support our foodservice operation across a chain of 150+ stores, driving structure, developing systems/structure and deliver operational excellence.

The Field Foodservice Manager will serve as the foodservice operational expert for our complex organization in the gas & convenience channel. This role encompasses process design, training, systems, structure, operational procedures, and will support cross functional team. The ideal candidate will exemplify engagement, a hands-on approach, and high energy to deliver results. They should have a proven track record in the restaurant and/or foodservice space of setting, pursuing, and achieving complex goals. This role is 80% field active role across Northern California and reports to the Director of Fresh Foods.

Key Responsibilities

  • This is an Above-Store-Leader Role: Supporting foodservice operations of 50+ locations in the Northern California market.
  • Design Operational Structure: Develop and execute foodservice operational processes, including manual design, product execution, training aids, and operational metrics.
  • Train and Support Teams: Provide comprehensive training curriculum and ongoing support to operations teams to ensure excellence in foodservice execution.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with operations, training department, and leadership teams to drive foodservice initiatives and achieve business goals.
  • Optimize Systems and Procedures: Streamline foodservice operations by implementing best practices for inventory management, product quality, and customer service.
  • Analyze Performance: Utilize data analytics to monitor category performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Innovate Product Development: Support innovation in product development, packaging development, and equipment needs to enhance the food service offering.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all foodservice operations comply with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Track Financial Metrics: Monitor and report on key financial metrics, including gross profits, profit margins, and P&L statements.
  • Foster Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with operations, suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Drive Sales and Profitability: Establish product assortment plans and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.

Requirements

  • Energy and passion to increase sales through systems and structure.
  • A QSR, Fast-Food, or Fast-Casual expert – 5yrs minimum experience.
  • High performing individuals who achieve financial targets.
  • Sophisticated in navigating cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of guest service metrics.
  • Proficient effective oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge. 
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Up to 20% overnight travel required for tours & meetings
  • Maintaining a valid driver’s license during employment is required.
  • The position requires proficiency and a solid understanding of data analytics and metrics assessment.
