Company Overview (Confidential)
Our Client is a stable, growing commercial door and gate company with consistent project volume, running high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area.
Position Summary
Our Client is seeking a Field Installation Manager to support high-volume commercial door and gate service operations across the Greater Sacramento area. This is a hands-on, field-driven role focused on troubleshooting, estimating, scheduling, and supporting installation crews.
This is a newly created position designed to alleviate workload from leadership and improve field efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong service-based experience (not just new installs) and can confidently manage multiple jobs, crews, and customer needs in real time.
What to Expect: Primarily field-based role with high daily activity. 6-month training period working closely with internal leadership. High-impact position with the opportunity to help shape operations. Occasional after-hours phone support (limited weekend work). Open to candidates willing to relocate to the Sacramento area.
Primary Functions
Oversee daily field operations across 10–20 active service jobs.
Troubleshoot issues in the field and remotely support technicians by phone.
Run service estimates and scope job requirements.
Coordinate and schedule 1–2 person installation/service crews.
Source parts, materials, and equipment needed for repairs and installs.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects moving.
Support compliance with safety and industry standards (ADA, fire code, etc.).
Partner closely with leadership during a 6-month training period.
Must-Haves
Strong background in commercial door and gate service/installation (must be commercial, not residential; hands-on).
Service / repair / troubleshooting experience — this is critical; candidates with only new installation experience are not a fit.
Experience with a majority of the following systems (ideally 3–4+):
Automatic doors (SIG or similar)
Storefront doors
Hollow metal doors
Solid core/wood doors
Overhead doors
Dock equipment
Gates and gate operators
Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues in the field (independently, in the field or over the phone).
Experience running estimates and coordinating service work.
Comfortable managing multiple jobs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across all listed door and gate systems.
Prior leadership or crew supervision experience (managing 1–2 man crews is a plus).
Knowledge of compliance standards and safety regulations (ADA, fire-rated doors, safety standards).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Previous experience with a competing commercial door company.
Experience with SIG automatic doors specifically.
Strong estimating background, especially if they've owned quotes end-to-end.
Experience sourcing parts/vendors independently.
Experience in high-volume service environments (HVAC, facilities, commercial service industries, etc.).
