Ideal Candidate:
Requires at least two years of experience in the responsibilities listed below, which may include:
Driving to the job site.
Inspecting trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.
Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
Repairing damaged equipment parts.
Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy construction equipment and vehicles.
Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments like winches, blades, and side booms.
Performing major repair work when necessary.
Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to Fleet Manager.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
Attention to detail and alert always to ensure safety
Able to receive and follow instructions
Communicates well with co-workers
High school diploma is an asset
Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
Previous experience, especially in the heavy equipment or maintenance industry, preferred
CDL Class A with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements preferred
All candidates must be able to pass the following:
Drug Screen (fee paid by Burns)
Background Screening
MVR Screening
DOT Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Query (if applicable)
