POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Field Operations and managed by the installation manager and supervising mechanic, this position will provide support to the Field Operations Department, as well as secondary support for the field operations team. The Mechanic Helper will be responsible for maintaining the Field Operations Code of Conduct, professionally and efficiently performing daily mechanic helper duties, and work closely with their immediate supervising mechanic.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Overall Position Related:

1. Provide full support to the Lead Mechanic.
2. To maintain a clean work vehicle and work area.
3. To learn and acquire the skills necessary to become a lead mechanic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• To uphold Field Operations Code of Conduct among fellow mechanics and helpers.
• Help ensure morning loading and departure is done safely and efficiently.
• Support to maintain a safe and clean vehicle.
• Assist in the loading/unloading of daily material from vehicles.
• Maintain current mechanic helper duties.

ORGANIZATION/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• To uphold Field Operations Code of Conduct among fellow mechanics and helpers.
• To communicate problem areas and concerns regarding product quality back to supervising Install Mechanic.
• Provide full support to the Installation Mechanic and provide feedback, support, and suggestions for continuous improvement.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• To have a clear knowledge, understanding, and to be proficient in the following areas:

-Minimum electrical knowledge/experience.

-Minimum construction skills.

-Intermediate knowledge of power and hand tools.

-Clean driving record.

-Cooperative with good attitude.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, jump, bend, sit, and listen. The employee should also have sufficient dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform various functions such as balancing, welding, grasping, and fastening.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to inclement weather, automobile traffic, moving mechanical parts, high voltage, heavy equipment dangers, welding/burning flash, and high, precarious places. The noise level and eye danger in the environment can be moderate to heavy where protective hearing and eye covering may be needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

All prospective team members must pass a criminal background check and drug test. Candidates must also meet the requirements for an I-9, e-Verify.
