Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Field Operator II – Water in Midland, TX. In this role, you will operate and maintain equipment and wells to meet daily production and operational targets, ensuring reliability, safety, and environmental compliance. You will work closely with supervisors and other field personnel to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimization strategies. Key Responsibilities
Execute daily operational plans, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient field operations
Participate in daily toolbox talks and scheduled safety meetings
Monitor wells and equipment continuously, identifying optimization opportunities and corrective actions
Perform basic maintenance activities as an Equipment Care Technician
Maintain accurate shift logs, detailing operational events, abnormalities, and equipment status
Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance jobs (corrective, predictive, and preventive)
Take and process samples for laboratory testing and perform basic field lab tests
Ensure proper communication during shift changes to maintain operations continuity
Respond to and support emergency situations in accordance with company protocols
Communicate well performance data, equipment condition, and production issues to supervisors
Support Wellwork operations and ensure wellheads and surface equipment are in proper condition prior to intervention activities
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (secondary education completed)
Prior experience as a Field Technician in oil & gas operations
Strong understanding of well operations, water systems, and field safety practices
Ability to read and follow operational procedures and safety guidelines
Effective communication skills and a strong team-oriented approach
Capable of performing physically demanding tasks and working in outdoor environments
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of water handling, disposal, and treatment systems in oil & gas operations
Familiarity with incident reporting and maintenance planning processes
Experience supporting Wellwork operations and surface equipment preparation
