Position Summary The Field Operator III is responsible for operating equipment and wells by applying established operating and safety procedures to meet daily operational plans, reduce equipment failure, and ensure efficient resource administration.Key Responsibilities
Implement daily work objectives related to housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards
Actively participate in daily toolbox talks and scheduled safety meetings
Continuously monitor wells and equipment to identify and implement corrective and optimization actions to maintain safe and efficient operations
Function as Equipment Care Technician, performing routine and basic maintenance activities
Report when alarm, emergency, or emergency shutdown systems are out of service
Provide detailed and accurate shift turnover information to ensure operational continuity
Coordinate, control, and monitor maintenance work in alignment with corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance plans
Maintain accurate and thorough logbook entries of operational events, abnormalities, or deviations involving equipment, personnel, or processes
Collect product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field lab testing
Participate in emergency response activities and report incidents per Incident Reporting Guidelines
Keep the Operations Shift Supervisor informed and consulted on operational activities
Maintain strong communication across the team to ensure issues and action items are properly addressed
Document and communicate well production issues, rates, and current well conditions
Ensure thorough well diagnostics prior to requesting Well Work intervention
Verify wellhead and surface equipment readiness prior to transfer of responsibility to Well Work operations
Provide support and assistance to Well Work operations as required
Skills & Qualifications
Completed secondary education
Prior experience as a Field Technician
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
Extensive knowledge of pipeline operations
Extensive knowledge of safety and operations management tools and processes
Strong knowledge of Emergency Preparedness Procedures
Familiarity with Project Philosophy and Design Specifications
Knowledge of relevant regulations and commercial agreements
Manager’s Top Priorities
Chemical experience (1–2 years preferred)
Oil production experience (3–5 years preferred)
Technically proficient, including Microsoft Office, coordinate mapping systems, and inventory applications
