Job Title: Field Service Technician - Electrical EquipmentLocation: Sterling, VA Metro Area
Details: Full Time, Direct Hire Position
Salary: Nonexempt. OT is paid daily. Anything after 8 hours is OT, anything after 10 hours is double time.
Purpose of Position: Join the team as a Field Service Technician specializing in electrical equipment. In this role, you will undergo comprehensive training on the specific equipment and commissioning processes. Following training, you'll be responsible for hands-on field service work at customer sites, primarily focusing on installation of components and subassemblies, and basic commissioning of our equipment, particularly in data center or industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend project meetings as required, coordinating with contractors and clients.
- Install and modify electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies, including panelboard interiors, circuit breakers, bus bars, switchgear section doors, control components, power cabling, and control wiring.
- Conduct basic testing of modified assemblies
- Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, control panels, and power products.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and networking equipment.
- Coordinate with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to resolve product or commissioning issues identified in the field.
- Perform preventive maintenance, field installations, and modifications to existing equipment.
- Provide technical product support to customers.
Education and Experience:- Technical degree or equivalent and 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or field service role with electrical equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, with availability to work evenings and weekends if necessary.
- Experience with switchgear and electrical control systems is a plus.
- Military experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams is a plus.
