As a Field Service Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting operations and maintenance of advanced water treatment systems at a primary site, plus a variety of other customers in your geographic area. Required:
- High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent and 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment.
- Ability to travel and a Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability and willingness to be on-call and respond per contract requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet all customer site requirements.
- Ability to cover other sites within the area as needed.
- Mechanical aptitude and electrical experience are a must-have.
- OSHA 10 Certification (needs to be validated prior to start. Course can be taken after offer made).
- No TWIC card is needed.
Desired:
- Bachelor's or associate degree in science/engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation, Controls, or programming and/or water treatment equipment, including UF/MBR.
- Working experience with PLC control systems, PLC programming, and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Water treatment experience.
What you will do / Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, maintain, repair, and optimize industrial equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on a variety of systems and equipment.
- Perform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, and TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts. Create and maintain site paperwork and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
- Carry out mechanical, electrical, and control troubleshooting on equipment such as motors, PLCs, VFDs, valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
- Partner with customer management and operation teams to help advise on system performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Other duties as required.
Important Notes:
- Job is in a Nuclear Power Plant.
- Must be able to pass in-depth background checks and random drug tests.
- Subject to random alcohol and drug test at any time when onsite.
- Must be comfortable with heightened security including armed security guards. Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
- Expenses: Whenever you’re required to purchase specific tools or parts associated with the role not provided on-site, it will then be reimbursed.
- Onboarding requirements: OSHA 10, Hair Follicle Drug Test, and Background Check / Investigation conducted by the nuclear plant.
- Valid Driver’s License: This role requires quite a bit of travel within your territory, so you’ll need a valid driver’s license.
- On-call: Sometimes, emergency service is required. When it happens, you may be asked to step in and save the day. We work hard to balance on-call schedules, which is part of the role.
- Ability to gain and maintain access to the customer sites assigned, including nuclear facilities.
