Field Service Specialist - NYC

FIELD SERVICE SPECIALIST (Permanent)
Our client, an international manufacturing organization with its US headquarters in WNY, is seeking a Field Service Specialist based in the NYC area servicing the Northeast region.

Responsibilities:

• Perform responsibilities for the startup and commissioning of company equipment
  


• Create and maintain positive, professional relationships with customers, offering recommendations for various services & upgrades where available in an effort to drive sales opportunities
  


• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues on equipment, performing all necessary repairs and ensuring optimal functioning
  


• Accurately document work both in field service reports and computer systems so it is thoroughly tracked, completed, and warranties adhered to
  


• Provide after-hours support to address critical service issues on an on-call basis
  


• Manage email and phone correspondence regarding service calls, issues, complaints, etc.  Schedule service visits accordingly
  


• Provide training sessions for service and installation teams, contractors, and customers to ensure proper education and knowledge of company products
  


• Provide assistance when equipment is being connected to customer networks and the internet to ensure it is functioning appropriately
  


• Collaborate with various internal departments on project-specific initiatives—engineering, sales, project management, etc.
  


• Other duties as assigned/as necessary
  

Details:

• Position is full-time, direct hire
  


• Travel 40%-60% (majority in the NYC area with approx. 10%-20% to other major Northeast cities (ex. Boston, Philadelphia))
  


• $90,000 - $100,000 annually depending on experience
  


• Vehicle allowance ($675 monthly), Mileage reimbursement ($0.42/mile), company computer & cell phone provided
  


• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Applied Engineering, or similar
  


• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, Building Automation Controls, and Variable Frequency Drives
  


• Experience in commercial construction is a plus
  


• Excellent customer service skills
  


• Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  


• Strong organization skills and time management skills
  


• Strong attention to detail
  


• Self-motivated
