Field Service Technician

Description

Overview 

The Field Service Technician will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain plant equipment. Identify, analyze, and repair equipment failures, order and replace parts as needed. Answer basic internal questions about equipment features. Provide some internal training as needed/requested. Has basic knowledge of gas processing equipment. Work on projects of varying complexity in a support or lead role. Work is closely managed. This is a hands-on position requiring direct involvement with equipment set-up, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Travel requirement is 50% or upon management discretion. Must be able and willing to travel within the US.

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

• Assist in troubleshooting issues at RNG Plants for various systems including Mechanical and Electrical issues.

• Assists with new plants and existing plant upgrades start up and testing.

• Assist Engineering with control system recommendations, updates, and modifications.

• Maintains current knowledge of the latest codes, standards, and best practices to encourage electrical safety for personnel and equipment protection. 

• Interface closely with Engineering and Operations on plant processes to fully understand the inner workings of our RNG Plants. Allowing for input on plant safety reliability, and ease of operational stability

• Have an ability to see problems before they arise through means of preventive maintenance, Site Visits, and historical data.

Qualifications

• Strong dedication to safety, safety procedures, and continual positivity towards Vision RNG’s safety culture

• Proficient with but not limited to PLC & HMI Programming, Various Communication Protocols, Transmitters, Analyzers, and Utility SCADA and RTU Systems. VFDs, MV & LV switchgear. Motor Controls. Loop Powered Devices

• Constant drive for efficient and quality from performed work and tasks.

• Ethics, Integrity, and Character regarding safety, fiscal responsibility, and customer support.

• Remote and On-site technical troubleshooting skills are a must.

• Work independently with minimal frustration while under pressure in a team of vast skills and duties.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Evolve with ever changing demands and priorities.

• Ability to look on the outcomes of past projects good, bad or indifferent and apply these results to future work and projects.

• Precise Communication with VisionRNG staff and contractors 

Skills, Experience, and Requirements

• 3-5 years of related technical experience in similar role and duties. (RNG or LFGTE preferred)

• Experience with NG or LFG fueled engines (power generation or gas compression applications).

• Familiar with protective relays and power metering equipment (troubleshooting, testing, startup or commissioning).

• PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably Rockwell Automation

• Familiar with HMI programming or troubleshooting (no specific manufacturer).

•  VFD motor controls and basic process control equipment (pressure, flow, temperature sensors).

• Ability to use basic hand tools and Various handheld meters.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• Be on feet for prolonged periods of time. 

• Ability to lift 50Lbs.
