Job Description - Field Service Technician

Hodge Industrial Technologies is a trusted provider of mission-critical compressed air systems for manufacturing facilities, known for fast response times and a culture of urgency and ownership. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers' operations run smoothly by delivering expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for industrial compressed air equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Install, commission, service, and repair industrial compressed air systems and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer guidelines; perform troubleshooting and implement effective fixes.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and parameter optimization on air compressors, dryers, filters, and control systems.
  • Provide on-site technical support and clear communication with customers, including diagnostic findings, timelines, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Document service activities, parts usage, labor, and recommendations in service reports and coordinate with dispatch for timely follow-up and future service needs.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–3 years of field service or industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment
  • Experience installing, commissioning, servicing, or repairing industrial compressed air systems (air compressors, dryers, filters, control systems)
  • Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools to fault-find mechanical/electrical issues
  • Proven ability to provide on-site customer communication, including explaining diagnostic findings, timelines, and recommendations
  • Experience documenting service activities, parts usage, labor, and recommendations in service reports
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer sites with occasional overnight trips
  • Able to lift equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand/kneel for extended periods
