Vancer was formed to create custom maintenance-of-way (MOW) equipment for rail clients. Our employees are the cornerstone of our business and key to ensuring we develop and deliver successful solutions that meet the needs of our railroad customers.
As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trucks, specialized railroad fleet equipment, and heavy machinery such as excavators and backhoes in field environments. This role involves traveling to customer sites, rail yards, and remote locations in a company vehicle to conduct DOT, FRA, and crane inspections, troubleshoot engines, HVAC systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, and drivetrain components, and ensure all equipment remains safe and operational. Duties include independently removing, installing, repairing, disassembling, assembling, and performing failure analysis on systems such as engines, attachments, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, power train, brakes, steering, and electronic and computer applications, while building strong customer relationships to promote trust and loyalty.
