Filtration Lead Technician

Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled water and wastewater plant operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems in water and wastewater treatment plants. This role involves managing control systems, analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with electrical systems, handling both low and high voltage ranging from 120VAC to 480VAC, as well as 24VDC systems.
• Utilize electrical tools and techniques to troubleshoot control panels and end devices effectively.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, Ewon systems, flow meters, pressure sensors, and VFD drives.
• Understand and manage flow loops, pressure systems, and chemical dosage calculations for treatment processes.
• Wire single-phase and three-phase motors, including VFD installation and maintenance.
• Operate and maintain testing meters and probes, such as DO meters, chlorine meters (total and free), pH probes, and conductivity probes.
• Recognize and address structural failures caused by weight distribution and/or overloading.
• Analyze and interpret analytical testing data related to drinking water, bacteria, wastewater, and effluent testing, including E. coli, and provide treatment recommendations accordingly.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Proven background and hands-on experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems used in plant operations.
• Proficiency in testing and analyzing water quality parameters using various tools and probes.
• Ability to interpret analytical testing data and apply findings to optimize treatment processes.
• Knowledge of safe practices in handling chemicals and maintaining equipment.
