The Borough of Tenafly, Bergen County, (pop. 15,500) is seeking a detailed-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounts payable and administrative functions, including maintaining vendor records and required documentation, preparing bill lists, printing and distribution of checks, maintaining purchase order files, processing stop payments and handling Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requests. The position also provides support to the Chief Financial Officer/Tax Collector and performs various related duties as needed within the department. Applicants should have two years of municipal experience, preferably in Accounts Payable. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong organization skills and the ability to adhere to resolution deadlines for submission of the bill list. Experience with Edmunds software is highly desirable. The Borough offers participation in a pension plan, in addition to a competitive salary along with health, dental and vision insurance. The Borough also provides paid time off including holidays. The Borough reserves the right to interview or hire candidates prior to the deadline of July 16, 2026. E.O.E./A.D.A. $45,000 - $65,000.
