The Director OTC US plays a strategic role in managing and improving the order-to-cash process with their ownership of all aspects of the U.S. Order to Cash (OTC) Finance functions for SN and the mandate to optimize Accounts Receivable health, customer satisfaction, and cost to serve.
What will you be doing?
Leads the delivery of collection, cash application, and dispute management activities supporting the U.S. market
Implements strategic initiatives aimed at improving OTC Finance processes, invoice accuracy and delivery, cash inflow, customer satisfaction and reducing operational costs and ensures alignment with the company’s overall business objectives
Collaborates cross functionally within the organization to improve OTC processes and be a business partner in enabling pricing, commercial and other strategic initiatives
Manages key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements, KPI's and benchmarks against industry leaders
Provides leadership and direction for U.S. OTC Finance Team, mostly based in our centre in Costa Rica and partly in the US
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable pricing, commercial and other strategic initiatives
Cultivates an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, professional development, open communication, and teamwork
Ownership of all Finance OTC-related financial controls
Provide leadership and program management over our critical effort to bring our AR aging profile into best-in-class
Provide direct leadership and management of the respective regional OTC Finance Team
Responsible to hire, retain, and develop team members
Ensures adherence to standardized policies and procedures in U.S. OTC Finance
Lead difficult conversations with key customers and stakeholders
Provide input to calculation of bad debt reserve and alerts our business unit partners on potential headwinds/tailwinds
Ensure adherence for all SOX process and controls related to U.S. OTC Finance
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure key performance indicators are measured, communicated, and utilized to drive continuous improvements
Optimize team structure and resources based on the OTC strategy
Provide Escalation support and work directly with internal and external customers to resolve issues
Manage the relationship with third party collection providers
Responsible for Unclaimed Property Data reporting for U.S. collections
Establish payment plans with customers and negotiate settlement agreements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, Sales, Customer Service, and Pricing to improve OTC Finance processes and procedures.
Drive talent development, succession planning, and team engagement
Education:
University degree
Qualified accountant or equivalent studies strongly preferred
What will you need to be successful?
Minimum 10 years post qualifying experience
8+ years of people leadership experience
Big 4 trained strongly preferred
Strong financial accounting skills in IFRS
Experience in SAP, FIS GetPaid strongly preferred
Experience in a multi-national environment and publicly traded company
Experience working in a SOX regulated environment
Experience in a

manufacturing/medical

device company is a benefit.
Excellent English skills
Deep understanding of the OTC process, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with various departments within the company
Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders across multiple and senior levels
Proven ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems and issues applying advanced analytical thought and judgement linked with excellent communication (oral and written) to senior and executive management
Requires broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within the financial/accounting world and how this integrates within the business
Leadership through multiple level of managers and across multiple disciplines or processes
Ability to prioritize work and issues effectively
Ability to focus on the details while maintaining a grasp on wider concepts;
Ability to work independently with limited direction
Recommendation of best practices within the finance and business world
Ability to define processes, perform gap analyses, and design and implement process improvement solutions to meet established organization performance goals
Ability to problem-solve in complex situations
Strong communication (written/verbal) and negotiation skills
Ability to develop relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders
