LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions for a leading construction company based in Tempe, Arizona. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Finance Manager will play a critical role in driving strategic decision-making, optimizing financial performance, and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, experience in the construction industry, and proficiency in financial modeling and planning software.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a comprehensive three-statement financial model to support strategic planning and decision-making. Implement and manage financial planning software to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Prepare monthly performance analyses, variance analysis, and other financial reports to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with accounting, sales, and operations teams to gather and analyze financial data, provide insights, and support business initiatives. Lead the preparation and presentation of regular financial forecasts and updates to senior management, including revenue projections, expense forecasts, and cash flow analysis. Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, identify trends and drivers of performance, and provide actionable recommendations to drive continuous improvement. Support the annual budgeting process by coordinating with department heads, consolidating budget submissions, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial planning and analysis. Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and inform decision-making.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 5+ years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the construction industry. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, planning software, and ERP systems; experience with Adaptive Insights, Adaptive Planning, or Hyperion is highly desirable. Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, project costing, and revenue recognition. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and a commitment to driving results.
