DESCRIPTION

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced finance leader to join its Partner Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of one of the most dynamic and fastest growing organizations at Amazon. The role will work closely with business and finance stakeholders to drive growth through with AWS Partners through the origination and execution of multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreements (SCAs). The candidate will be responsible for helping to jointly define the organization’s SCA strategy with business leaders, building reporting mechanisms to monitor program health, deep-diving variances to uncover operating insights, collaborating on agreement design decisions to optimize financial returns, establishing/enhancing governance mechanisms, driving planning and forecasting rhythms, and developing a high-performing team. Successful candidates will have a high degree of intellectual curiosity, a passion for uncovering insights to drive business outcomes at scale, the ability to influence senior stakeholders via strong written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to prioritize effectively while dealing with ambiguity.

Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Think Big with business stakeholders to define, optimize and execute the organization’s strategy for engaging with strategic partners via SCAs
• Manage and develop a team of high performers
• Invent and automate detailed reporting to monitor the business and financial health of the SCA program
• Deep Dive drivers of monthly & quarterly variances in revenue & expense metrics and provide key insights to business stakeholders to inform operating strategies
• Work closely with business stakeholders to structure SCAs with key Partners, ensuring acceptable returns on investment (ROI)
• Own planning and forecasting for SCA expenses and influence business stakeholders to ensure plans are aligned with broader organizational objectives
• Develop and implement governance mechanisms to protect AWS investments
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to help business leaders solve complex problems and understand financial implication

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
- Experience managing a team of individuals contributors that span multiple or complex products or programs within your organization
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, influencing strategy, and achieving goals by working across the organization
- Experience in Excel with advanced proficiency (pivots, lookups, etc.)
- Experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
