Finance and Accounting Specialist
Location: Franklin OH
Salary: 55k+ depending on experience
Onsite M-F 8am- 5pm -Flexible

Overview: Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance and Accounting specialist. This role will primarily focus on managing Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and HR duties while also providing support in various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to multitask effectively.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP) Duties:
- Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents in a timely manner.
- Verify accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies with vendors.
- Prepare and execute payments through checks, ACH transfers, or online payment systems.
- Maintain vendor records and manage vendor communications regarding payments and inquiries.
- Reconcile AP transactions and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
- Assist in preparing month-end closing procedures, including journal entries related to AP transactions.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Duties:
- Generate and send customer invoices accurately and promptly.
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely collection of receivables.
- Follow up on past due accounts and initiate collection efforts as necessary.
- Reconcile AR transactions and resolve any billing discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain aging reports to track outstanding receivables.
- Assist in preparing month-end closing procedures, including journal entries related to AR transactions.
Human Resources (HR) Duties:
- Provide HR functions, including employee onboarding, maintaining personnel records, and coordinating employee events or activities.
- Prepare weekly payroll functions, including verifying hours worked, submission of hours with payroll company, input of payroll into accounting system.
- Manage employee relations.
- Manage company policies and employee benefits.
- Assist management with employee performance, corrective action, conflict resolution as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as answering phones and managing mail.
- Maintain organized filing systems for both electronic and physical documents.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in office management, administrative support, and accounting functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office suite (especially Excel and Word).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of HR practices and procedures is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or relevant field is a plus.
