Enterprise Functions Technology

The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Wells Fargo Corporate lines of business, including Risk; Compliance, Legal, Audit, Regulator; Finance; Public Affairs, Human Resources, Enterprise Service Management and enabling technologies. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

This position will be responsible for leading the continued modernization of the organization's financial systems used within the Chief Financial Officer's organization. The Finance Technology Executive oversees the strategic use of technology within a financial organization. Responsibilities include implementing IT systems, ensuring cybersecurity, managing digital transformation, and aligning technology initiatives with business goals. This role will also ensure appropriate governance, oversight, and compliance for all technology controls. You will lead a team of ~700 global engineers to design, test and build safe, efficient, and innovative solutions for a 100M+ portfolio supporting 90 applications. Key modernization efforts are underway across all Finance functions, to include Corporate Accounting, Treasury, and Forecasting, Planning & Analysis. Strong leadership and financial industry knowledge are critical.

You will need to be able to draw upon not only your background and experiences, but also recognize the components of different people and groups to orchestrate the sequence of many different initiatives. You will work to influence and align many different functions and areas - including Operating Committee Member and his leadership team.

This leader must be able to identify/define metrics and goals to guide the organization. You will partner with peers to ensure alignment to the overall EFT and Wells Fargo Technology strategy. Must be able to work with senior leaders of the organization to gain agreement but also to drive towards the overall goals to be executed and achieve results.

Key Responsibilities

:
Provide vision and set direction for all of technology development and infrastructure for the Finance Technology organization.
Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives.
Develop and monitor long range information technology roadmaps for the Controllership ecosystem (e.g., General Ledger), Treasury Functions, External Regulatory Reporting, Management Reporting, and Modeling/Forecasting, consistent with the strategic objectives and plans the Finance line of business.
Identify capacity planning, efficiency, availability, business enablement and time to market.
Provide comprehensive consultation to leadership regarding business requirements and solutions.
Create an innovative culture within the engineering organization, solving future business needs with continuously evolving modern technical capabilities.
Provide technology solutions for the Finance line of business, including application portfolio standardization and rationalization.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute technology strategies and collaborate and influence engineering professionals at all levels of the organization.
Lead a global team of ~700 engineers and engineering managers responsible for software development, data management, evaluating emerging technologies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing IT resources for efficiency.
Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry forums.
Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy.

Required Qualifications
8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications
Communication skills are vital to convey complex technical concepts to non-technology stakeholders. Continuous innovation and staying abreast of industry trends are essential.
Ability to manage mission critical or highly available platforms or applications with distributed server platform experience.
The candidate must be comfortable in front of large audiences to develop, influence and foster the community.
Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of technology support: large information technology (IT) environment, multiple computing environments, operating systems, and hardware platforms.
Knowledge and understanding of technology support: web and services platforms along with system integration: engineering or platform engineering experience.
Must have strong executive presentation and relationship building skills. Ability to present a message clearly and succinctly to business leaders, product leaders and very large and executive audiences.
Extensive experience in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Strong expertise in risk controls self-assessment and implementing effective risk management strategies.
Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, security, and privacy requirements within the financial services sector.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams through transformational change.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
Transformation experience within large matrixed organizations and how to simplify the organization.
Understanding of complex organizational design and different approaches towards organizational design.
Understanding of financial and budgeting practices and how an enterprise would operate in a product-centric manner.
Demonstrated experience in building, leading, developing, and retaining a high performing team of leaders, strong technical experts and high performing professionals in a cultural environment that achieves results through team member engagement and satisfaction.
Expert Finance domain knowledge.
High level understanding of enterprise and domain architecture.
Knowledge of cloud technologies (GCP/Azure) and experience in hybrid cloud AI/ML Infrastructure, data platforms and multi-tenant architecture.
