Financial Accountant

We’re expanding our finance team in Prague and looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of the accounting operations for one or more legal entities.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, preparing monthly and annual reports, and coordinating audits. You’ll also make sure all company policies and accounting practices meet financial and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do

• Manage all accounting activities for business operations across the EMEA region.
• Handle month-end closing tasks: reconciliations, revenue and expense accounting, etc.
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure full compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, local authorities, and other departments.
• Lead the statutory accounts process and manage the year-end audit.
• Oversee corporate tax and VAT compliance, maintaining close contact with external advisors.
• Ensure all financial records follow internal policies and accounting standards.
• Take part in European and global finance projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.
• Work closely with AP, Cash Collection, and Commercial Finance teams.
• Own the preparation and review of internal and external reports.

• Certified Accountant qualification or university degree (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, tax, or audit.
• Experience with US GAAP/IFRS and statutory financial statements.
• Proven experience preparing VAT returns.
• Candidates must provide a criminal record extract that is no more than three months old.
• Previous contact point for auditors.
• Strong command of English (other languages are a plus).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Oracle E1 or HFM is a plus.
