JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking a Financial Care Counselor to assist in coordination of clinic service activities of two new Orthopaedic clinics to achieve continuous and optimal patient care.


 


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Patient Service Associate (PSA) / Financial Care Counselor (FCC) functionality:

    • Registration, arrive/check out visits, schedule follow up appointments.

    • Oversee front desk personnel and provide assistance with aforementioned functions.



  • Monitor registration, charge review, claim edit work queues and ensure they are cleared daily.

  • Train new staff and educate current staff on new policies and procedures related to insurance/payer changes.

  • Charge and reconcile professional charges daily.

  • Assist Practice Administrator and Service Access Manager with customer service and billing requests.

  • Review the daily appointment report for visit level authorizations, obtain as necessary. 

  • Cash management: close clinic batch and prepare deposit daily, submit batch corrections as necessary and perform monthly cash audits.

  •  Attend Monthly PSA/FCC registration meetings and dispense information timely regarding updates or changes.

  • Serve as a resource point for questions regarding patient accounts, registration, insurance or billing questions. 


 


JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS




  • High School diploma required.



  • Two years of experience working in a healthcare setting or billing and collections; or an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience working with the public; or a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public.


  • Knowledge of Orthopaedics preferred.




  • Customer Service experience preferred.




  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes preferred.




  • Experience with Charge Posting preferred.




  • Proficient in Guarantor account maintenance (PB/HB) preferred.




  • Microsoft Office Proficient.




  • Presentation Skills.




  • Excellent Communication Skills.




 


JOB HOURS


The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
