Location: Bend, OR

Compensation: $26.01/hour (plus $0.50/hour for bilingual Spanish)  

Hours: Regular full-time, 40 hours/week

NeighborImpact HomeSource Overview

The NeighborImpact HomeSource program is a comprehensive initiative designed to support individuals in achieving and maintaining homeownership. It offers a range of services including home buyer education, financial fitness classes, and matched savings programs, as well as counseling for foreclosure and reverse mortgages. The program aims to strengthen household finances and provide the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain, sustain, and protect one's home. 

Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The HomeSource Education & Community Outreach Specialist is responsible for teaching a suite of financial education courses according to asset and housing industry requirements. Workshops include financial stability classes, first time homeownership, home retention courses. The position is also responsible for Community Outreach and marketing of HomeSource services and programs. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong public speaking and presentation skills, both virtual and in-person, and the ability to relate to diverse personalities. Responsibilities include curriculum development, class scheduling coordination, teaching, and creating digital resources for education and marketing. Opportunities for advancement are available upon obtaining HUD certification and demonstrated ability to successfully teach various classes. 

Requirements

  

Required

  • Associate’s degree required 
  1. Or in lieu of education, 3 years of direct experience in group education, or relevant work experience in personal finances or housing industry. 
  • Evening Availability required, must be available to work 2-3 evenings per week
  • Two years of related work experience required 
  • Experience with virtual and in-person presentation required
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Office, online platforms) required 
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Valid driver’s license
  2. Proof of current auto insurance
  3. Reliable transportation
  4. Ability to pass acceptable credit check post-offer, pre-employment required
  5. Satisfactory criminal background check including SAM.gov

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Work experience in any financial or housing industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience in adult education, coaching or counseling preferred 
  • Demonstrated substantial knowledge of first-time home buyer needs, services and products, with experience in asset building, housing, lending, or a related field preferred
  • Marketing/outreach experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

After a 6-month probationary period, remote work may be available contingent on successfully passing training, program need, and performance quality. For remote work, the following additional requirements apply throughout employment:

  • A confidential and professional workspace

  • Auditory and visual privacy in the home-based workspace 
  • Dedicated & secure space to utilize and store agency provided equipment
