Job Description - Financial Manager, CT USA and CT Canada

Job Description

*This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role.*
POSITION
Lead the financial reporting and accounting processes for the legal entities ContiTech USA and ContiTech Canada.

Partner with Business Area, Accounting, Tax, Treasury and other Central Functions to make financial decisions for the legal entities. Ensure compliance and efficiency of all financially relevant processes.
Financial Management:
Partner with the Tax, Treasury, Real Estate, and other Central Functions on behalf of the legal entity
Prepare financial reporting for local and corporate requirement.
Communicate with Segment, Operations, and BA Controlling teams for accounting and other financial topics of the legal entity.
Prepare company level risk assessments.
Prepare company level forecasts and budgets.
Accounting Standards:
Ensure the financial reporting of the legal entity conforms to all local and Continental accounting rules and standards (per local GAAP and Continental FRM)
Train and ensure documentation of local accounting practices in coordination with the GBS teams.
Lead process changes in accounting and reporting for the legal entity.
Governance:
Promote compliance topics on Company policies and procedures within the accounting team.
Ensure sound financial processes and controls for the US and Canada
Ensure standard Group and Sector policies and procedures are implemented in the legal entities.
Credit Management:
Review and approve credit limit requests within authorization limits.
Monitor customer past dues and work with Segment teams to resolve non-payment issues.
Oversee customer collections processes, cash application, and deduction management.
Financial Process Oversight:
Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled on monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis.
Ensure journal entries are approved and supported by adequate documentation.
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations.
Lead projects to review the month end closing processes for improvements in efficiency and controls.
Communicate changes in accounting processes or large financial impacts to the appropriate Segment and Operations controlling teams.
Local Audit Coordination:
Coordinate quarterly and annual external audits.
Work with Operations Controlling and Plant Controlling to implement best practices based on internal audit guidance/findings.
Support internal audits for plants and central functions.
Special Projects:
Lead integration activities for mergers and acquisitions, coordinating financial teams in BA and Central Functions
Coordinate cross-BA projects for US and Canadian entities.
Provide financial analysis and modeling for special projects.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
15 years overall experience and 10 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance, Controlling, or related role.
Prior experience with month end close and reporting processes.
Prior experience leading a team of 5+.
Prior experience working on a diverse, multinational team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
