Position Overview:

Responsible for insurance verification and eligibility, assessment of patient financial requirements, counseling patients on insurance benefits and co-payments, and obtaining preauthorization for all services. Works closely with the care team, nurse navigation, case management and physicians to facilitate the timely start and continuity of services.

Job Description:

EDUCATION:

• HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of recent relevant experience
• Preferred 2 years financial experience
• Preferred 2 years insurance and eligibility verification experience

• SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of chemotherapy medications and regimens and other costly injectable medications
• Knowledge and experience with insurance authorization
• Familiarity of medical terminology/anatomy.
• Verbal and written communication skills for regular contact with physicians, employees, patients and insurance personnel.
• Basic high school math aptitude.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to work with others in a flexible, cooperative manner.
• Computer data entry skills to enter patient and authorization information.

Pay Range is $32.61 to $40.76 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled.
