Financial Operations Generalist
Reports to: Controller
Salary (Grade): $60,604.00/yr
Status: Reg., Full-time; (Exempt)
Location: Blackhawk Community Center, Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska
Job Purpose & Position Overview
This position is responsible for administrative and compliance-oriented duties related to tribal inventory, tribal motor vehicle insurance and risk management.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.
- Maintains all tribal inventory; both fixed assets and smaller items.
- Assist Finance Department with monthly billing processes as needed.
- Determine each tribal entities responsibility of insurance, telephone, and internet bills and disseminate appropriate invoice to each entity.
- Prepares vouchers for payment of premiums and verifies that payments have been made
- Compiles records of insurance policies covering risks to property and equipment of organization.
- Handling/reporting insurance claims for property, vehicle, and liability
- Renewal of insurance policies annually.
- Identifies potential risks by analyzing data, observing processes, and talking to staff.
- Ensures and/or facilitates adequate communication concerning key risks.
- General support to the CFO.
- Obtains vehicle renewals annually.
- Obtains vehicle registrations on newly acquired vehicles and trailers.
- Files records of insurance transactions and keeps calendar of premiums due and expiration dates of policies.
- Facilitates pertinent training.
- Maintains motor vehicle insurance list of eligible drivers. Acts as liaison for eligibility determination.
- Maintains personal vehicle insurance information for driver/mileage eligibility.
- Collects sealed bids for tribal projects.
- Maintain and update the vehicle list for appropriate tribal entities.
- Distribute safety recalls and traffic infractions.
- Maintain and distribute annual beef payment and fee land lease notices.
- Provide information and producing documentation to auditors.
- Maintain accurate insurance policies and records of all Tribal owned buildings, vehicles and worker’s compensation.
- Provide annual boiler inspections, voucher and maintain current certificates.
- Obtain insurance on all new vehicles and programs/buildings and notify appropriate finance staff of updated fixed assets.
- Distribute proof of insurance for all vehicles and provide Thurston County officials with copies upon request.

Work Environment:
- Both indoor and outdoor assignments are involved with frequent prolonged exposure to inclement weather.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- An Associate’s Degree is required; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain valid insurance and must meet driver’s eligibility guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise part-time associate position
Safety Committee Responsibilities:
- Will maintain Safety Committee meeting minutes as recorded by officer
- Will ensure and maintain Safety Committee recurring meeting schedule
- Will report Safety Committee action to appropriate personnel (CEO, Tribal Council, and/or Human Resources)
- Assist with other Safety Committee assignments, projects, or requests
Training Requirements:
- As needed to carry out job duties and as directed by supervisory personnel.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal to heavy office work which includes the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
- While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

Language Requirements:
