Financial Planning Assistant

This position is in the Northwestern Mutual – Minnetonka District Office, located at 601 Carlson Pkwy Ste 300, Minnetonka, MN 55305 with in-person weekday hours between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

The Financial Planning Assistant serves as the primary link between our internal departments, corporate office, and the clients we serve. This individual helps ensure and coordinates an organized practice. This role’s seamless and time-sensitive execution is critical to a memorable client experience. Successful completion of tasks and responsibilities empowers the team to focus their energy and efforts on revenue-generating activity while fostering and developing impactful, enduring client relationships. 

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Assist clients with service on existing insurance and investment account maintenance


• Completes new life insurance applications, schedules paramedical exams, and manages insurance underwriting and policy delivery processes


• Initiates onboarding of new investment accounts and funding

• Documents client conversations in case notes and maintains CRM as needed


• Input data and gather information in preparation for client/prospect meetings


• Maintains a positive, energetic, and professional atmosphere in the office.

• Maintains a sense of autonomy, and urgency, and takes initiative

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of business operations and/or administrative support experience preferred 


• MN State Life, Accident and Health licensed, or ability to gain licensing within six months of employment


• Client Resource Management experience preferred


• High sense of urgency, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills


• Excellent oral and written communication skills


• Task-minded with the ability to follow through and execute in a timely manner


• High degree of initiative and autonomy


• Demonstrates ability to maintain effective working relationships within the firm and its clients
