The Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions. This role will prepare accurate and timely internal and external financial reports, assist with recording accounting transactions, support audit and compliance activities, and help maintain strong internal controls and reporting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, professional in-office environment with exposure to executive leadership.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Prepares and reviews journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner.
Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements on both a standalone and consolidated basis for both operating entities and parent companies, including supporting work schedules and notes and disclosures.
Assists in the preparation of reports for the internal management reporting process, including weekly cash forecasts and monthly internal reporting forecasts and accompanying analysis and insights.
Assists in collaboration with subsidiary CFOs and finance teams to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting across all entities.
Assists in the preparation of technical accounting memos and supports the implementation of new accounting standards, as needed.
Assists in the annual budgeting process including the preparation of a consolidated budget report.
Participates in ad hoc projects including system implementations and special financial analysis.
Participate in the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, systems and controls.
Proactively resolves issues within area of assigned responsibility.

Qualifications:
Two (2) years minimum experience with public accounting experience preferred.
Ability to identify and analyze accounting and financial reporting questions and develop solutions responsive to those questions.
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities with some supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and other departments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
Diverse industry accounting and reporting knowledge.
Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Preferred: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or other reporting software.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college in Accounting or Finance required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward a CPA license.
Working Environment:
Full-time, in-office position within a professional office environment with a moderate noise level.
Frequent interaction with senior leadership, investment professionals, and external parties.
Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end close, audits, transactions, and reporting deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, spreadsheets, electronic communications, and other business documents.
Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, or carry materials within the office environment.
Ability to occasionally lift, move, or transport files, office supplies, laptops, or other materials weighing up to fifteen (15) pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for computer and document review.
