Financial Services Business Partner

The Financial Services Business Partner oversees and steers the financial operating model and governance framework which enables the Treasury and Finance team to interact with its various business partners (commercial and/ or product teams) and which consistently supports the implementation of the business strategy. She or He has a significant role in the establishment and development of the Treasury and Financial Services’ Center of Excellence and its strategic values for the business. 

He or she is primarily responsible for addressing product and commercial requirements across the spectrum of the Financial Services functions: evaluating their economic and commercial impacts; assessing the financial (and Finance operational) risks / implications of new solutions / partnerships, and ensuring the full compliance of financial and banking regulatory requirements by working closely with risk owners, subject matter experts or parties within the first line of defence; and ultimately own the end-to-end design of Treasury and Finance Target Operating Model (TOM).

He or she manages both internal and external stakeholders effectively and is able to influence communication to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results. 

B.Responsible:

• Responsible for understanding, implementing and managing new product and/or commercial requirements related (but not limited) to Connected Trip initiatives (E.g. Flights, Insurance, etc.), Booking Holdings Financial Services (BHFS) and Regulated Products (E.g. FX Services, VCC self issuance, SME lending, etc.) from Finance capacity;


• Lead and own overall design of Treasury and Finance TOM that enables sound financial and operational risk management that enable the  safeguarding of funds; 


• Actively promotes innovation and shares process improvements, best practices. Advocate for Treasury and Financial Services standards, framework guidance/ playbook and priorities;


• Map out the value chain deliverables and financial economics of each solution;  


• Assess Financial Risks (FX, liquidity and counterparty) attached to new products and/or partners  by working closely with risk owners, subject matter experts or parties within the first line of defence; Consider regulatory and operational implications and correspondingly liaise with risk owners, subject matter experts or parties within the first line of defence


• Work closely with external partners/ vendors such as FinTech and Banks; as well as internal / external counsels to support regulatory due diligence, fund flow design and implementation, risk assessments, and commercial discussions;


• Assess whether existing Treasury and Financial Services  products and/ or processes can be leveraged to support the business or whether new solutions or operating models are required to accommodate new requirements; 


• Work closely with Program Management functions within Treasury & Financial Services and wider Finance to ensure streamlined organization of projects and resources ;


• Build and own key monitoring metrics and performance KPIs/Insights to measure performance, risk and return. Further, ensuring identified risks are sufficiently owned by risk owners;


• Work closely with Treasury and Financial Services colleagues to optimize current core infrastructure (bank infrastructure, in-house bank, FX Hedging strategies) in the context for Connected Trip and launch of new (regulated) products/ entities/ commercial initiatives to maximize their operational efficiency and scalability; Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within Treasury and Finance;


• Ongoing monitoring of regulatory landscape across strategic markets (i.e. EEA, UK, US, China, Japan, South East Asia, Australia, Brazil and India) and advising the business about related risks and opportunities;


• Continuously liaise with key stakeholders across the business to understand priorities, requirements and to provide feedback on progress from a Treasury and Finance perspective; 


• Work closely with specialists across the Treasury and wider Finance department to identify and implement best market practices and solutions for both partners and customers;

B.Skilled:

• A proven track record of 5+ years in core Treasury and Financial Services functions such as within the financial technology (FinTech), Banking and consulting industries.      


• Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision;


• Excellent English speaker with strong communication skills, able to adapt style and approach in order to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of different cultures;


• Post-graduate Master degree/ specialized advanced diploma in Finance or Treasury Management is an advantage; 


• Able to keep the overview of several complex tasks / projects that run at the same time;


• Strong systems knowledge and experiences with systems such as SWIFT, SAP, Market Mata Sources (E.g. S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg), Tableau/ BI reporting tooling. Understanding of data queries and analytical tools such as (but not limited to) SQL and Python is a plus.  


• Strong passion for innovation and disruptive technology such as distributed ledger/ block chain, artificial intelligence and machine learning; 


• Broad knowledge of micro and macroeconomic factors, with the ability to translate these  into risk-based decisions;


• Able to demonstrate relentless tenacity to drive business objectives and deliver results;


• Strong interpersonal skills; 


• Excellent people & stakeholder management skills required;


• Experienced in project implementation and/ or change management;


• Broad knowledge of micro and macroeconomic factors, with the ability to translate these  into risk-based decisions;


• Willingness to work flexibly, and undertake global travel when required by the business.
