Job Description - Financial Systems Support Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Analyst II - Financial Systems Support ("Analyst") is skilled in the support of Midstream Gathering & Processing Accounting and Business Intelligence systems, providing data, helping users resolve issues adversely impacting business processes, and looking for ways to maximize efficiency and business value. The Analyst runs regular processes while navigating the competing needs of multiple users. As the business needs change and/or grow, the Analyst will seek effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. The Analyst will also collaborate with the information technology department and participate in the process of planning for, implementing, and supporting system upgrades or enhancements. The role will require the knowledge and use of system-related technology competencies to complete work efforts.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain end-to-end understanding of functional aspects of the Operational Accounting system, Business Intelligence reporting, and associated business processes
Run regular processes to support Business Intelligence reporting using Microsoft Access, Alteryx, and PowerBI
Run monthly processes to load data into the Operational Accounting system (W Energy)
Write data queries using Oracle and Microsoft SQL to meet adhoc requests or business needs
Investigate and diagnose incoming requests or issues according to their priority, identify the resolution and/or root cause, and keep the appropriate business stakeholders up to date on the status of open items
Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions with business stakeholders to define solutions
Identify and communicate improvement opportunities with emphasis on continuous service improvement
Demonstrate awareness of customer support metrics such as quality of service and response times and reflect on how to improve individual and team results
Adheres to and champions the IT Governance programs (e.g. change management and communication)
Maintain business process documentation (business processes, training guides, testing plans, other team documents, etc.)
Develop internal customer relationships by making efforts to listen to and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction

MINIMUM ESSSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, and/or 2-3 years equivalent work experience
Specific focus on maintaining mission critical, production systems either in Accounting or Business Intelligent/Data Analytics
Advanced knowledge of Oracle or Microsoft SQL, stored procedures, table operations and database design
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving
Strong reading and listening comprehension skills
Must be able to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities based on the ability to capture, organize, and analyze information
Ability to learn database structures quickly and with minimal guidance or documentation
Ability to write data queries using Oracle and Microsoft SQL with minimal guidance
High comfort with tying different data systems together without defined keys
Experience with testing methods
Familiarity with project management methodologies
Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies
Experience troubleshooting complicated issues and driving to solutions
Experience supporting resources performing user acceptance, regression and other required system tests, ensuring that system and/or related integration issues that arise are identified, researched and closed in a timely manner
Experience providing technical solutions to non-technical individuals
Ability to work in a team-oriented setting
Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
Regular and reliable attendance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of relevant work experience
Advanced knowledge of Oracle or Micrsoft SQL
Experience with Alteryx or similar data analytics tools
