Fine Dining Server SC

The Onion Tree located on the North Shore of Long Island in the beautiful town of Sea Cliff is hiring Full and Part Time Servers to join our team and help us expand our brand.

Led by Chef Jay Jadeja and his wife, Raquel Jadeja, The Onion Tree is a food-forward restaurant serving multi-cultural cuisine with a concentration on Modern Indian cuisine. We are also known for our traditional Pizza Napoletano and (not so traditional), pizzas including Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, Palak Paneer Pizza, and Short Rib on Pizza - to name a few. Our team is comprised of energetic individuals who are passionate about hospitality and food. It is a very positive work environment and everyone enjoys being a part of The Onion Tree!

We do substantial volume in spite of limited capacity and need professional individuals to help us grow bigger and better. The right candidate is:

-A Foodie

-Has at least 3-5 years of serving experience

-Lives within 20-30 minutes driving of Sea Cliff (11579) and has own transportation.

-Is available evenings, weekends and holidays.

Server Responsibilities:

• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Engage with guests in a friendly manner.
• Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
• Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Collect payments from tables.
• Help food preparation staff when necessary.

Server Requirements:

• Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, and other staff.
• Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
