• Manage the finishing department’s daily operations, delegating work appropriately
• Attend meetings as needed
• Review build drawings and disseminate information to the team
• Collaborate with Assistant Manager and Finishing Foreman to finalize material choices and orders for all jobs in a timely manner
• Oversee the sampling process for all jobs
• Review Asana regularly, and adhere to all Asana standards and processes
• Review Trainual regularly, and update all Finishing-specific content in a timely manner
• Collaborate with the Finishing team to determine daily schedules, order of operations, and space management needs
• Uphold quality control standards for the Finishing department
• Flag non-finishing QC issues with the relevant department in a timely manner
• Assist in planning and forecasting of new projects, as needed
• Sign off on all finishing-specific payroll and purchasing-related administrative tasks
• Conduct regular audits of the Finishing team’s processes and standards, and implement changes when necessary
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations and the Facilities Manager to conduct all necessary safety training and maintain up-to-date certifications
• Maintain clear, respectful, and efficient communication with all Bednark employees, clients, or guests
• Conduct weekly meetings with the Finishing team to debrief on recent wins and growth opportunities, review upcoming projects, share company news, and address any questions or concerns from the team
• Conduct yearly performance reviews for all team members
• Identify, set, and track performance goals for all team members, assist with providing professional development opportunities, and assign special projects
• Maintain a robust and diverse staff roster of the appropriate size, ensuring that all necessary finishing skills are represented at any given time
• Play a key role in talent acquisition, interviewing, and termination process
• Ensure all team members are trained on the Incident reporting process and understand their responsibility to report incidents promptly
• Ensure timely reporting of accidents to relevant internal stakeholders, such as HR, Facilities, and/or safety committees

• 5+ years of experience in a Leadership role in a Scenic or Fabrication Finishing environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of Scenic skill, including faux finishing, foam carving, event finishing, wood/millwork finishing, and skim coating
• Comfortable with technology, including Gmail, Google Drive, Asana and ADP Workforce Now
• Ability to lead crews of varied skill levels
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
