Job Description - Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Service Technician

Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Service Technician
Location: Based in Ft. Myers, FL
Coverage Area: Sarasota to Naples (within a 2-hour travel radius)
Hourly Rate: High $20s - $30s/hr. (based on experience) + Overtime + On-Call Pay
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | On-Call Rotation (1 week every 2 months)

HireNow Staffing is looking for a driven, field-ready Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Technician with a passion for safety systems and technical troubleshooting. If you're confident around complex panels and thrive in active field environments, this is your chance to join a growing, regional low-voltage firm handling major commercial builds from airport expansions to multi-million-dollar care facilities.
What You'll Do
  • Install, service, and maintain commercial fire alarm systems and integrated low-voltage systems (access control, CCTV, nurse call, etc.)
  • Program and troubleshoot systems from top brands such as EST, Honeywell, Notifier, Simplex, and Siemens
  • Perform inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local/state regulations
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, and service tickets
  • Partner with project managers, electricians, and customers to ensure system success
  • Educate end-users on system functionality and protocols
  • Participate in an on-call rotation every 8 weeks, supporting emergency service needs
Must-Have Qualifications
5+ years of experience with fire alarm and low-voltage systems
Strong working knowledge of major control panels (EST, Honeywell, etc.)
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. and working at heights
Comfortable with a regional travel radius (Sarasota to Naples)
Excellent problem-solving and customer interaction skills
Bonus Points For
NICET certification
Experience with access control, CCTV, and nurse call systems
Familiarity with working for smaller or mid-sized firms
Local to SW Florida and looking for a long-term role
