Position Overview We’re currently seeking a qualified Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT and surrounding areas. This is a key role responsible for performing inspections on fire alarm systems and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled inspections on fire alarm systems per NFPA standards and local codes.
Complete inspection reports accurately and submit them promptly.
Identify system deficiencies and communicate findings with customers and internal teams.
Work closely with service coordinators and customers to schedule inspections and any follow-up service.
Maintain organized documentation of inspections and customer interactions.
Assist with testing and troubleshooting when needed.
Support other departments and teams as needed to ensure top-quality customer service.
Maintain safety paperwork and uphold company safety standards.
Travel to out-of-area job sites, as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
NICET Level I or higher in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
Applicable Utah state fire alarm license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
2+ years of experience inspecting fire alarm systems in a commercial environment.
Familiarity with NFPA 72, local fire codes, and manufacturer-specific software and tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to document inspections clearly and thoroughly.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and AHJs.
Proficiency with mobile devices and inspection/reporting software.
Must be self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch or stoop for prolonged periods.
Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
Work in confined spaces and at various heights.
Lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
