We are hiring Fire Alarm Technicians for a major data center project at Iron Mountain. Whether you're a seasoned tech with programming skills or an experienced installer ready to grow into a senior role, this position offers long-term career progression in a high-demand industry.
This project is ideal for those with experience in fire alarm system installation, pre-wiring, terminations, and working with a range of fire alarm devices. Individuals who bring NICET certifications and programming experience may be considered for senior-level pay and responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing:
Install fire alarm systems and components, including strobes, sirens, exit signs, fire alarm panels, and other fire alarm devices.
Pull and terminate 18/2 fire wire, Cat 6, and other low-voltage cabling.
Terminate field devices, including smoke detectors, pull stations, horn strobes, etc.
Interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and product manuals to ensure accurate installations.
Practice clean wire management, organization, and documentation of all work.
Work at height on lifts; assist in staging and learning materials/parts prior to pulling wire.
Support a team-oriented install environment, ensuring timelines and safety protocols are met.
Communicate job status, issues, and material needs to management in real-time.
Engage in a clear career path, starting from pre-wire to programming and system commissioning, based on performance and dedication.
Preferred Experience with the Following Systems (a plus):
Notifier (ONYX Series: NFS2-3030, NFS-320)
Fire-Lite Alarms by Honeywell
VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus)
Honeywell and Fike clean agent suppression systems
EST3 / Edwards Systems Technology
Gamewell, Kidde, Bosch, and other fire life safety systems
Qualifications:
3 years of experience installing fire alarm or low-voltage systems
Comfortable with hand tools, test meters, lifts, and basic construction practices
Must understand fire alarm devices, low-voltage cable types, and proper terminations
Ability to follow blueprints, riser diagrams, and verbal direction
OSHA 10 or willingness to obtain
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Must pass background and drug screening
Preferred Certifications & Experience:
NICET Level IIII in Fire Alarm Systems (required for higher pay ranges)
BICSI certification (preferred)
Programming knowledge of Notifier, EST, Gamewell, or Kidde is highly valued
Willingness to obtain certifications within one year if not already held
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay: $22 $35/hr, based on experience, certifications, and programming ability
All PPE and safety gear provided
Tools provided or tool allowance depending on role level
