Job Description - Fire Alarm Technician

Wiginton Fire Systems is hiring experienced Fire Alarm Technicians in Fort Myers.

What You Will Do



  • Program and commission newly installed fire alarm systems

  • Install and troubleshoot low-voltage fire alarm equipment

  • Perform inspections, testing, and system diagnostics

  • Identify and resolve system issues efficiently

  • Read and interpret plans, manuals, and specifications

  • Complete service reports and communicate with customers

  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends

  • Lead and direct helpers or junior installers when needed



What We Are Looking For



  • Minimum 2 years of experience servicing, inspecting, or installing fire alarm systems

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Associate degree in electrical or electronics preferred but not required

  • Working knowledge of fire alarm panels, test equipment, and communication devices

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in active job site environments


Preferred but not required:



  • NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems

  • FASA or BASA certification

This is a hands-on role working in the field. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, completing installs, and ensuring systems are fully operational and code compliant.
