Fire Extinguisher Technician, Pocatello ID

State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Fire Suppression Extinguisher Technician based in Pocatello, ID. Experience is a plus, but not required. This position is responsible for testing and inspecting fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers. 

Responsibilities:

· Test fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.

· Annual Inspection of fire extinguishers.

· Semi-annual inspection of fire suppression systems.

· Repair of fire suppression systems.

· Complete inspection reports and report deficiencies.

Job Requirements 

• Commitment to staying current on fire safety equipment standards and industry regulations.
   
• Proficient with basic mobile and tablet applications (iPad).
   
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
   
• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact with superiors, subordinates, and customers.
   
• Strong customer service orientation when working with State Fire clients and internal teams.
   
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
   
• Comfortable using hand tools and battery-operated tools.
   

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and stoop for extended periods.
   
• Capable of operating a motor vehicle safely.
   
• Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.
   
• Navigate tight spaces and areas with limited access.
   
• Safely lift and move objects up to 70 pounds without assistance.
   
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
