Fire Protection Engineer (2-5 years)

Fire Protection Engineer, Coffman Engineers, Inc., Tamuning, GU: Responsible for designing projects that will safeguard life and property against fire and related hazards.

Duties and responsibilities of the position include:

• Assist in planning, designing, and directing fire protection engineering projects.
• Design and specify basic systems.
• Perform consulting services for internal clients, utilizing Fire Protection engineering technical skills, including but not limited to:
  • automatic suppression system design
  • fire detection, alarm, and communication system design
  • general fire protection and life safety concepts and research

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

Education: A bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) in fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, or related engineering field of study

Experience: Two years of experience in a fire prevention drafting and design occupation

SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience must include the following:

1. Two years of experience working with AutoCAD.
2. Two years of experience working with Revit and Bluebeam
3. Two years of experience performing building and fire code analysis, and code interpretations
4. Two years of experience in the analysis of existing fire protection systems
5. Two years of experience designing new fire protection systems, including suppression systems, fire detection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Basic pay is eighty-eight thousand seven hundred thirty-three dollars annually for full-time employment and standard company benefits. Coffman Engineers’ Employee Referral Program applies to this position.
