We are looking to add a talented Fire Smoke Damper (FSD) Supervisor in our Beaverton office. The FSD Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire and smoke dampers to ensure compliance with safety codes and operational standards. This role includes managing service teams, coordinating schedules, providing technical expertise, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians performing fire and smoke damper inspections, testing, and maintenance

  • Train and mentor team members to ensure proper techniques, procedures, and safety protocols are followed

  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely and efficient service delivery

  • Develop and manage service schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope

  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to plan and execute service activities

  • Oversee documentation of inspection and maintenance results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Provide hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance for complex fire and smoke damper issues

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards (e.g., NFPA 80, NFPA 105), and company quality policies

  • Engage with state legislative processes to ensure NWESI is able to provide FSD services

  • Develop training programs to ensure company technicians are certified to perform work in target regional markets

  • Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure standards are met and issues are addressed

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction

  • Prepare and deliver service reports, including test results, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective actions

  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and procedures on all job sites

  • Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, building codes, and company policies

  • Promote a strong culture of safety among team members

  • Manage equipment, tools, and materials needed for service operations

  • Monitor and report on inventory levels and ensure all equipment is maintained and calibrated

  • Track team performance metrics, including efficiency, productivity, and quality

  • Provide regular reports to management on service operations, team performance, and project outcomes

  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS





  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in technical discipline preferred

  • Experience in technical writing for HVAC, mechanical systems, or fire life safety systems

  • 5+ years of experience in fire and smoke damper inspection, maintenance, or related HVAC/fire protection work

  • 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role

  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards (NFPA 80, NFPA 150) and fire life safety systems

  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fire life safety reports

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and reporting tools

  • Certification in Fire Life Safety (e.g., NFPA certifications, CFSD) highly desired

  • OSHA Safety Certification
