Position Summary
Wiginton Fire Systems is seeking an Experienced Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our Sanford (Orlando) office.
This role is responsible for producing accurate, code-compliant fire sprinkler system designs that clearly communicate installation requirements to field teams. You will play a critical role in project success from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design fire sprinkler systems using HydraCAD and AutoCAD
Produce detailed shop drawings and submittal packages
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
Ensure designs meet NFPA standards and local codes
Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and other trades
Review and revise designs based on project needs and feedback
Maintain accuracy, quality, and timelines across multiple projects
Qualifications (Required)
Minimum 2+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (design/build contractor environment)
Proficiency in HydraCAD and AutoCAD
Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, materials, and installation practices
Working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
NICET certification (or actively pursuing)
Experience working in a fast-paced construction environment
Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills
Work Environment & Expectations
Office-based role in Tampa, FL
Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Overtime may be required during peak project cycles (up to 25 hours/week as needed)
