Compensation Information:

• $19 - 20.00 / hour
• $250 sign-on bonus
• $250 retention bonus after 90 days of employment

CURTIS PPE Care specializes in the inspection, cleaning, and repair of personal protective ensembles (PPE) and ensemble elements used for structural, wildland, industrial, and aviation firefighting applications. CURTIS PPE Care also serves as a highly skilled resource for aftermarket alterations, modifications and accessories for PPE and ensemble elements. Providing support services for personal protective ensembles is our only business, and we take great pride in doing it well.

Job Description

We are looking for a versatile, responsible, reliable and motivated Processor at CURTIS PPE Care Kent, Washington.  This role has two main areas of responsibility: 1) processing & inspecting PPE elements (including data entry and shipping/receiving); and 2) driving company vehicles for pick-ups and deliveries. 

The position you are applying for requires standing for long periods of time, often 8hrs at a time.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Data entry related to element information, order entry, work performed, customer information, and shipping details.
• Learn NFPA 1851 and/or other industry standards and how they relate to our processes and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Operate hardware, tools, cleaning, and testing equipment as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and perform accurate data entry.
• Sort, organize, inspect and launder personal protective ensemble elements.
• Participates in material inventory counts.
• Assist with facility cleaning.
• Drive company vehicle for pick-ups and deliveries.

What You’ll Bring Must Have / Must Have Skills

• Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) in a data entry capacity.
• Capable of lifting and handling elements that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to speak, read, type, write and comprehend English.
• Valid, unexpired driver's license and driving record that meets requirements of our insurance provider.

Must Have Soft Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with customers, coworkers, and leadership.
• The ability to read, write and understand English.
• Willingness to learn and be flexible.
• Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail.
• Team oriented and respectful.

Nice to Have

• Experience with shipping and receiving.
• Experience with inspection and laundering of clothing.
• Pattern reading.
