Connecticut Appliance & Fireplace Distributors (CAFD) is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Fireplace Service Technician to join our growing Hearth division. This hands-on field position is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing gas, wood, and electric fireplace products in residential settings throughout Connecticut.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares for fireplace installations, and/or service calls assigned by the scheduler.
Fabricates necessary piping and connectors to route gas from a stubbed outlet to fireplace log burners or gas appliances.
Performs diagnose and repair to hearth products and natural gas problems.
Installs and sets up hearth products orders as directed on company sales orders.
Performs work required on company contract maintenance agreements, including gas service.
Maintains company logs related to customer installations and vehicle mileage.
Ensures safe practices are followed at that all work accomplished meets applicable State and local regulations.
Accommodates customer requests at the work site or collaborates with the Production Manager to resolve questionable actions.
Ensures accomplishment of vehicle and equipment maintenance needed to maximize serviceability and long life.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
Experience using hand tools and working in residential service environments.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials.
Comfortable working on ladders, rooftops, in crawl spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred
Experience with gas appliances, fireplaces, HVAC, plumbing, propane, or related trades.
Connecticut trade licensing (S1, S3, S7, B1, G1, HPG-1) or willingness to obtain licensing.
NFI Certification (Gas, Wood, or Pellet).
Previous field service or installation experience.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm
Pay:
$25.00-$35.00/hour D.O.E. and licensure
