Job Description - Firmware Engineer (3-5 Years of Experience)

VPI is looking for bright, motivated, savvy, and diverse employees to help support new product development for cutting-edge technologies and innovative products.
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Firmware Engineer with embedded systems experience, programming C and C++ code, as well as debugging. Apply today!

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible for U.S. Security Clearance
BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
3-5 Years of Engineering Experience
C Programming
C++ Programming
Firmware System Design
Embedded Software Development
Testing and Debugging New and Existing Designs
Ability to Read a Microprocessor Datasheet
Experience with Version Control Tools, Specifically Git

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Great attention to detail
Strong interpersonal/communication skills with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Strong critical thinking/problem-solving skills
Experience working in a team-oriented atmosphere with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
High degree of professionalism and maturity with ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision
Ability to adapt to changes, delays, and unexpected events
Exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures
