Position Title: First Assistant Golf Professional
Department: Golf Operations
FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Directly Reports To: Director of Golf
Indirectly Reports To: Head Golf Professional
Position Summary
The First Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for supporting the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in managing all aspects of golf operations, including member services, tournaments, retail, instruction, and staff supervision. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
Position Responsibilities
· Assists golf professional with daily operation of the professional and outside staff in starting, running golf events, maintains starting procedures, and operates point of sale for merchandise, guest fees, cart fees, etc.
· Responds and resolves member inquiries; greets members by name
· Assists members by providing and interpreting policies, rules and regulations
· Enforce club dress code and policies, as well as rules of golf and oversees activities throughout golf operations to ensure members and guests receive quality service
· Assists golf professional with tournament operations
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualification Standards
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
· Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
· Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
· Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Must possess basic computational ability.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Proficient in golf POS systems, tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius), and Microsoft Office.
Education
High school graduate, some college preferred.
Experience
· Member of PGA or PGA Apprentice with five (5) years’ experience in golf operations
· Prior club experience is preferred
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill disinfecting tasks
· Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
· Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with members, guests and vendors
· Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
· Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per club standards. Professional business attire required.
Other
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the club. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Golf Shop commissions are paid monthly.
You keep 100% of the lesson income.
You are eligible to do 2 Pro Play (2*$250) a month during shift.
401K with company match after 90 days.
