Job Summary

The FC Cincinnati Performance Department (FCCPD) is a multi-disciplinary group striving to optimize athlete performance through a holistic, athlete centered approach to fitness, health and wellness. This team of practitioners focuses on being communicative, compassionate and consistent in all aspects of athlete care and is focused on helping athletes perform at maximal levels from Day 1 of preseason through to the MLS Cup Final.  Our objective at FCCPD is to increase all athlete’s Availability, Consistency, Capacity and Quality in preparation for the challenges of football today and in the future. In pursuit of this vision, FCCPD is seeking a collaborative and innovative Physical Therapist, to work within the First Team environment, who will aid in our pursuit of excellence and remain curious to the most up to date best practices in the world of player rehab, reconditioning and return to play.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement evidence-based rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for acute and chronic injuries.


• Deliver manual therapy interventions, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education tailored to individual athlete needs.


• Collaborate with FCCPD staff on return-to-play progressions, incorporating objective data and clinical milestones while merging Athletic Development concepts with best-in-class medical care


• Document all treatment sessions and assessments in the Athlete Management System (AMS) in compliance with HIPAA, MLS and FCCPD protocols.


• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills—must interface effectively with athletes, staff, and executive leadership.

What You’ll Need:

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)


• Passed the National Physical Therapy Exam


• Licensed in the State of Ohio; or able to obtain within 3 months of hiring


• CPR for Health Care Providers


• Minimum of 3 (three) years working with Elite Athletes/Performers

Preferred Certifications and Skills:

• American Physical Therapy Association Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) or Sports Certified Specialist (SCS)


• Advanced Manual therapy Certifications (e.g. Maitland, McKenzie, Mulligan, others)


• Familiarity with the following Sports Technology solutions:

• Dry needling, Blood flow restriction (BFR), cupping or other similar skills
