Job Description - Fisheries Biologist Sales & Technical Advisor

Fisheries Biologist – Sales & Technical Advisor
Full-time | Five Days per Week | In-Person – Richardson, TX
Take Your Expertise Beyond Reports—Drive Real Outcomes
If you’re a fisheries biologist who understands population dynamics, water chemistry, and ecosystem balance—but you’re tired of slow-moving projects, limited implementation, or purely academic work—this is your opportunity to apply your expertise where it actually drives change.

At Natural Waterscapes, you’ll move from observation and recommendation to direct influence—guiding pond and lake owners across the country to implement solutions that improve water quality, fisheries health, and long-term sustainability.
About Natural Waterscapes
Natural Waterscapes is a national leader in science-driven pond and lake management solutions. Founded in 2007, we’ve evolved from field-based construction and restoration into a data-driven, e-commerce-powered platform serving customers nationwide.
We combine hydrology, water quality science, and real-world application to deliver solutions that work—supported by lab analysis, field data, and continuous innovation.
Why This Role Stands Out
Apply Science at Scale
Instead of writing reports that may or may not get implemented, you’ll directly influence decisions across hundreds of water bodies—daily.

Bridge Science & Action
You won’t just analyze problems—you’ll guide customers to solutions and see real-world outcomes.

High-Earning Potential
Hourly + commission with uncapped upside. Top performers earn $25,000+ annually in commissions, with strong growth potential as your expertise drives results.

Escape Bureaucracy
No grant cycles, no red tape, no waiting months for implementation. Move fast, think critically, and act.

Grow Into a Leadership Role
As we expand, opportunities open up in technical leadership, advanced advisory roles, product development, and training.

Stable, Professional Environment
Work in a clean, fully HVAC-controlled office in Richardson, TX—no field exposure unless you want it.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret water quality data, biological indicators, and ecosystem dynamics to guide customer decisions
  • Advise customers on fisheries management, stocking strategies, and population balance
  • Diagnose pond and lake issues including nutrient loading, algal blooms, and oxygen limitations
  • Recommend solutions including aeration systems, biological treatments, and nutrient management strategies
  • Translate complex ecological concepts into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Convert inbound leads into sales through consultative conversations (phone, email, online)
  • Build long-term customer relationships grounded in trust and technical credibility
  • Document interactions and insights within CRM systems (NetSuite, Zoho, or similar)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure execution aligns with recommendations
  • Stay current on emerging research, tools, and best practices in fisheries and aquatic management
Who You Are
  • Scientifically grounded — You understand fisheries biology, limnology, or aquatic ecology at a practical level
  • Applied thinker — You care about real-world outcomes, not just theory
  • Strong communicator — You can translate complex science into decisions customers can act on
  • Naturally consultative — You guide, recommend, and influence with confidence
  • Results-driven — You want your knowledge to directly impact outcomes—and your income
  • Self-motivated — You take ownership of performance and growth
Preferred Background
  • Degree in Fisheries Biology, Aquatic Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Experience in fisheries management, pond/lake consulting, or aquatic resource management
  • Knowledge of water chemistry, nutrient cycling, and dissolved oxygen dynamics
  • Familiarity with fish population management, forage systems, and stocking strategies
  • Experience interpreting water quality data and biological assessments
  • Exposure to aeration systems, aquatic vegetation management, or lake restoration techniques
  • Experience with CRM systems such as NetSuite, Zoho, or similar
What We Offer
  • Competitive Hourly Pay + Commission (uncapped earning potential)
  • Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
  • 11 Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off
  • Retirement Plan with Company Match
  • Professional Development & Continued Learning Opportunities
  • Consistent Schedule — Five days per week, no nights or Sundays
  • Office-based role in Richardson, TX
The Details
  • Schedule: Five days per week (includes a rotating Saturday shift with a shorter coverage window)
  • Location: In-person – Richardson, TX
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field preferred
