Alliance Steel, Inc. is seeking a Fitter 1 to join our growing team. The Fitter 1 will use equipment and tools to layout and fabricate and fit steel material to the specific dimensions, tolerance and locations as defined by the structural details on drawings and blueprints. Welding experience is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Must follow blueprints to check for width, thickness, and length of structural members also known as (BOM) build of materials

· Must understand tools and be able to utilize them for all dimensional purposes

· Must have ability to properly use an oxy acetylene torch to cut, notch and bevel materials in accordance with parts specifications

· Must have ability to tack weld components and structural members to specifications required

· Must have strong math skills including but not limited to fractions, decimals, and degrees

· Must have a strong attention for detail and maintain a quality mindset

· Must be willing to work in a team atmosphere or independently

· Must be 2G certified and 3F (certification provided by Alliance)

· Must always have a high awareness for safety

· Any other duties assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Must wear proper safety equipment

· Able to follow verbal instructions

· Ability to lift 50lbs. bend, squat, kneel and or stand for extended periods of time

· Ability to read a tape measure, speed square, and level

· Knowledge of basic math (add, subtract, multiply & divide fractions)

· Speed square, tape measure, soap stone holder, and other tools required for this position provided by Alliance

· Must meet ASTM F2413-18 standards

· Must be full-leather (no fabric)

· Must have a built-in Metatarsal Guard (MT)
