Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fitter/Welder with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in both fitting and welding. This opportunity is within a climate-controlled fabrication facility specializing in high-precision work with carbon and stainless steel components. The Fitter/Welder will be responsible for reading blueprints, performing accurate layouts, and producing quality welds that meet industry and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise MIG welding on carbon steel and TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications

• Execute layouts, fitting, and alignment of metal assemblies

• Verify measurements using precision tools to maintain fabrication accuracy

• Ensure all work meets internal and external quality standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times

• Collaborate with the welding and production teams to ensure efficiency and consistency

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of welding and fitting experience (required)

• Skilled in MIG welding on carbon steel and TIG welding on stainless/aluminum

• Ability to perform accurate layout and measurement conversions

• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and fabrication principles

• Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship

• Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-oriented

Test Information

Carbon Steel – MIG:
Two plates 3/8"× 2"× 7", simple butt joint (backing strip acceptable)

Stainless 304/316 – TIG:
Two strips 0.060–0.125"× 2"× 7", simple butt joint (argon purge or backing required for clean root)
