The Fleet Administrator assists in the administration and coordination of the company’s fleet of vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, including vehicle allocation, maintenance, and repairs.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for routine maintenance and inspections of all fleet vehicles to ensure they remain in optimal condition.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, and other pertinent information.
Liaise with external vendors, such as repair shops and parts suppliers, to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
Stay up to date on federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to fleet operations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Monitor fuel usage and implement strategies to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce costs.
In collaboration with the safety team, coordinate driver training programs to ensure safe and responsible operation of fleet vehicles.
Assist in developing and managing the fleet budget, including forecasting expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Generate regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and other key metrics for management review.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Proven experience in fleet management or a related field.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, technicians, vendors, and management.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including Fleetio & Samsara, Microsoft Excel, and other office productivity tools.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing fleet operations.
In-depth knowledge of DOT compliance preferred.
Detail-orientated with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
A minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience; fleet experience highly desired
Dependable, self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
